Response to Sedaris

  This is an interesting story about a guy with OCD.  At times it was kind of funny but it was also realistic at times because people with OCD act and do similar rituals that he did.  It is a serious problem and he can't help to do them.  His family and other people are mean to him but I think it's because they don't realize he has a problem and that he can't help it.  I think he could have got this from his family who at times seemed like they had a bit of an OCD disorder even though they don't realize it and it's not as severe as his.  But when he gets to college his OCD isn't as bad because he starts to smoke, drink, and do drugs.  He still had OCD but he had cigarettes and smoking that kept him busy and  he was so obsessive and compulsive over a single cigarette, it would calm him down and it was something to do with his hands and mouth.  He says everything is fine if he knows he has a cigarette to smoke in the future.
